Terms of Service

In short

Resfolio is an AI career workspace. You keep one professional profile, and it powers tailored resumes, cover letters, PDFs, a public portfolio site and your writing. Your career content is yours — we only store and render it. AI drafts from what you already wrote and invents nothing, but you are responsible for what you send to an employer. Everything is free during beta; when plans start, a week pass is one payment and premium templates are bought once and kept for good.

A plain-language summary, not a substitute for what follows.

These terms govern your use of Resfolio — the website at resfolio.in, the workspace at app.resfolio.in, and the pages we publish for you at s.resfolio.in. By creating an account or using any of them, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use Resfolio.

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Resfolio you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and agree to be bound by them, together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. If you are using Resfolio on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be announced in the workspace before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use Resfolio after a change means you accept the updated terms.

What Resfolio is

Resfolio is a career workspace, not a resume builder. You maintain one profile — roles, projects, skills, education, links, writing — and every output is generated from it: a tailored resume, a cover letter, a PDF, a public resume link, a portfolio site, and published posts.

The workspace also reads job postings you paste in, scores them against your profile, shows you where the gaps are, and tracks each application through to an outcome.

Resfolio is not a job board, a recruiter, or an employment agency. We do not submit applications for you, we have no relationship with the companies whose postings you paste in, and we cannot promise an interview or an offer.

Resfolio is in beta. Features may change, be added, or be withdrawn while we build. We will not remove something you rely on without notice, and we will never quietly change what a paid plan includes.

Your account

You sign in with Google or GitHub. We never ask for, receive, or store a password for Resfolio — sign-in is delegated entirely to those providers, and keeping your account with them secure is your responsibility.

You may link both providers to the same Resfolio account. Removing access at the provider will end your ability to sign in; it does not by itself delete your Resfolio data.

One account is for one person. Do not share your account, and tell us at hi@resfolio.in if you believe someone else has reached it.

Your content, and who owns it

You own everything you put into Resfolio. Your profile, your resumes, your portfolio configuration, your posts, the images you upload and the job postings you save remain yours. We claim no ownership of any of it, and nothing here transfers a right in it to us.

To run the service we need a narrow, practical licence: permission to store your content, back it up, process it, and display it — including publishing the parts you choose to publish at their public addresses. That licence exists only so Resfolio can do the thing you asked it to do, is worldwide and royalty-free because the internet is, and ends when you delete the content or your account.

  • We do not sell your content, and we never will.
  • We do not use it to train AI models, and we ask the same of our providers.
  • We do not show it to other users, publish it, or index it unless you publish it yourself.
  • We do not read it except where you have asked us to help with something specific, or where we must to investigate abuse or a security incident.

You are responsible for having the right to what you upload. Do not put content into Resfolio that you did not write or are not permitted to use — including someone else's resume, an employer's confidential material, or images you do not have a licence for.

Accuracy is yours to keep

Resfolio produces documents you send to employers. Everything it generates is a draft you review, and the last read before anything is sent is always yours.

We build hard toward one guarantee — that nothing appears on your resume that is not already in your profile — and the product is structured to enforce it rather than merely intend it. It is still a guarantee about provenance, not truth: if your profile says something inaccurate, every output faithfully repeats it.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of what you send to an employer, and for anything that follows from a misstatement in it.

AI features, and their limits

Several features call a large language model: job matching, resume tailoring, cover letters, translated exports, résumé import, and the assistant. To do that, the relevant part of your profile and the text you provided are sent to our model provider. We do not send more than the feature needs.

What the assistant may and may not do

The assistant can read your profile and propose changes to it. It cannot write to it. Every change is shown to you as a before-and-after and applied only when you press Apply — there is no path in the product by which a model edits your data on its own.

Proposals that would add a claim your profile does not support are refused before you ever see them, and the refusals are counted on screen so you can tell that the check ran.

What we cannot promise

  • Model output can be wrong, awkward, or unsuitable for a particular employer. Read it before you send it.
  • A match score is an estimate produced from the text of a posting. It is not a prediction of whether you will be hired, and no employer sees it.
  • Translated exports are machine translations. Dates, links, and company names are deliberately never sent to be translated, but the prose is, and it should be checked by someone who reads the language.
  • AI features depend on a third-party provider. If that provider is unavailable, those features are too — the rest of Resfolio keeps working.

We may set limits on AI usage per plan, and may adjust them as costs change. Where a limit is reached, the product tells you which one and when it resets.

Acceptable use

Resfolio is a tool for representing your own professional history. You agree not to use it to:

  • Impersonate another person, or publish a profile or portfolio that presents someone else's work as your own.
  • Publish unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit content at a Resfolio address.
  • Upload malware, or content designed to compromise a reader's device or our systems.
  • Break, probe, or circumvent our rate limits, usage allowances, entitlement checks, or any other technical restriction.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the service, or resell access to it.
  • Use the AI features to generate content at scale for third parties, or as a general-purpose model endpoint.
  • Automate account creation, or hold accounts you do not use in order to accumulate free allowances.

We rate-limit AI features and uploads to keep the service usable and its costs predictable. Attempting to work around those limits is a breach of these terms.

The pages you publish

Two kinds of page can be published from your profile, and they behave differently on purpose.

  • Your portfolio lives at `s.resfolio.in/p/<your-handle>`. It is public, and — if you leave it discoverable — it is meant to be found by search engines.
  • Your resume lives at `s.resfolio.in/r/<your-handle>`. It is readable by anyone holding the link, but it is never indexed by search engines, because a resume carries an email address and a phone number and has no way to opt in to being crawled.

Each resume has its own public or private setting, and a private one is refused at its URL. Publishing is always an explicit action: a draft is never live, and editing a draft never changes what a visitor sees until you publish.

Once a page is public, treat it as public permanently. Search engines, archives, and anyone who visited may retain a copy that we have no way to recall.

Handles

Your handle is the username in both public addresses. Handles are first-come, are not transferable, and some words are reserved. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates a person or organisation, infringes a trademark, or has been registered only to resell — and we will contact you first wherever we can.

Plans, prices and payment

Everything is free while Resfolio is in beta. Nothing will ever be charged to you without asking first. The prices published on our pricing section are what plans will cost when billing starts.

There are two different kinds of purchase, and the difference matters:

  • Plans are rented. What a plan buys is how much AI you can run — matching, tailoring, letters and translation — because that is the part that costs us money each time it runs. A monthly or yearly plan renews until you cancel; a week pass is a single payment that simply expires and has nothing to cancel.
  • Premium templates are owned. They are a one-time purchase that never expires and never renews. We sell them outright because a portfolio is a link on a CV you already sent, and it must not stop working because a card did.

Your profile, your resume PDFs, your portfolio site and your writing are free on every plan, permanently. Losing a plan reduces how much AI you can run; it never takes down a published page and never removes a template you have already unlocked.

How payment works

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record. They collect payment details, handle tax where it applies, and issue receipts. We never see or store your card details. Cancellations, payment methods, and invoices are managed through their customer portal, which is linked from your billing settings.

Prices are quoted in your local currency where we can determine it, and the amount you are actually charged is set by our payment provider from your billing country. Taxes are added where required by law.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a recurring plan at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not pro-rate part of a period.

Because AI usage is consumed immediately and a template unlock is granted immediately, purchases are generally non-refundable once used. This does not affect any statutory right you have under the consumer law that applies to you, and if something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us at hi@resfolio.in — we would rather sort it out than stand on a clause.

We may change prices. An existing subscription keeps its price for the period already paid, and we will give notice before a change takes effect at renewal.

Third-party services

Resfolio depends on other providers to run: hosting, our database, file storage, our AI provider, payment processing, and error monitoring. The full list, what each one does, and where each one holds data are in our Privacy Policy.

You may also connect public sources — GitHub, an RSS feed, Dev.to, Stack Overflow — to import your own work into your profile. We fetch only what is already public at those addresses, nothing is added to your profile without you pressing Import, and imported content becomes ordinary Resfolio content that you own and edit like anything else.

Links to third-party sites, and job postings you paste in, are not endorsements. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any site we do not run.

Our intellectual property

Resfolio — the software, the design system, the templates, the name and the logo — belongs to us and to our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you.

Using a template, free or premium, gives you the right to publish your own content through it, for as long as you like. It does not give you the right to copy the template's code or design for use elsewhere, to resell it, or to redistribute it.

If you believe something published on Resfolio infringes your copyright or trademark, write to hi@resfolio.in with enough detail to identify the work and the page, and we will act on it promptly.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Resfolio available and fast, but we do not offer a service-level guarantee during beta. Maintenance, provider outages, and failures beyond our control will occasionally interrupt the service.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of Resfolio. If we ever discontinue the service, or a feature you have paid for, we will give reasonable notice, provide a way to export your content, and refund the unused portion of anything you have prepaid.

Disclaimers

Resfolio is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. In particular we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI output will be accurate or fit for a particular application, or that using Resfolio will result in an interview, an offer, or employment.

Nothing Resfolio produces is legal, financial, immigration, or career advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, nor for lost profits, lost opportunities, or a job you did not get.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to Resfolio is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ₹5,000.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Resfolio at any time, and you can delete your account from your settings. Deleting it removes your profile, documents, sites, posts, tracked applications and uploaded files, and takes your published pages offline. Backups are purged on their own schedule, within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms — in particular the acceptable-use section — or where we must in order to comply with the law. Except where a breach is serious or ongoing, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it first.

The sections on your content, our intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the competent courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is read as narrowly as necessary to make it valid. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion is not a waiver of it.

Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to us — almost everything is faster to fix that way.
